Frequently Asked Questions

What is Atlas Acuity?

Atlas Acuity is a visual research company focused on improving ophthalmic clinical trials through education, practice and consulting. We develop training and resources for ophthalmic technicians and clinical research coordinators.

Who is the training for?

Our courses are designed for ophthalmic technicians, clinical research coordinators, and other clinical site staff who support ophthalmic clinical trials and want to build skills in both ophthalmology and clinical research regulation.

Is the Elements of Clinical Research course free?

Yes. Elements of Clinical Research is a free ten-part video series (about two hours in total) for the ophthalmic clinical research coordinator, covering the clinical trial lifecycle, research ethics, regulation, trial conduct, clinical data and documentation.

What is the ETDRS visual acuity protocol?

ETDRS refers to the Early Treatment Diabetic Retinopathy Study, whose standardized visual acuity testing method — using ETDRS charts, controlled lighting and a defined refraction and scoring procedure — is the standard way visual acuity is measured in ophthalmic clinical trials. We are developing courses on ETDRS visual acuity, worksheet completion, and refraction and refinement.
